A Year of Sweaters 2026!
I am offering a series of sweater classes in 2026. Let's explore different types of sweater construction together! You can join us in person or via Zoom.
I feel like a lot of knitters have gotten stuck in a rut using top-down yoked or raglan patterns over and over (and we are going to explore those as well) but there are other ways to construct a sweater! Lots of you have been asking me to share which sweaters we'll be making, so that you can choose which ones you'd like to sign up for. You'll find them listed below.
Every other month, beginning in January we will start a new sweater. For each sweater we will meet twice. You will be able to sign up for each sweater you want to make - knit them all or pick and choose. Each sweater has a different construction style. So here they are with photos.

January - Bottom up, raglan. You get to choose either the Squish Cardigan from Andrea Rangel, knit in a worsted weight or the Raglan Sweater 10149, a pullover knit in a DK weight. Either of these would be fun. The cardigan is obviously a bit more challenging because of the cables. For the pullover you can choose a solid, variegated or self-striping yarn depending on if you want something simple or if you want to jazz it up a little. We'll meet January 10th & 24th from 2-4 pm to start this project.

March - Top-down Raglan pullover or cardigan. The Felix Cardigan or the Felix Pullover by Amy Christoffers, knit in an Aran weight gauge, so it's quick! This is a great pattern and a simple but lovely design - both versions are wonderful.

May - Dolman sleeve pullover. The Roxborough Dolman by Courtney Kelley, knit in a fingering weight yarn (but at a DK/Sport weight gauge - so you won't be using tiny needles). This is such a cute and wearable design. You can do it in a solid color if stripes aren't your thing.
July - I don't know yet! It will most likely be a yoke design - we'll do the Marie Greene 4 day KAL sweater together.

September - Set in Sleeves, seamed. We'll knit the Little Basic Cardi by Holli Yeoh. This one is knit in DK weight yarn. You can always use another cardigan!

November - Drop Shoulder. We'll knit the Moonlight Cardigan by Minimi Knit Design. This is a fingering weight and lace weight mohair held together or you can choose a DK weight yarn. Cozy but elegant is a great combo.
You will be able to join us in person or via Zoom. I will be talking about fit, how to measure yourself to decide which size to make, how much ease you will want and more. I am asking that you use yarn purchased at Yarn for the series.
